About Us
The Mark Sorensen Youth Sailing Program, Inc. (MSYSP) is a non-profit organization established to encourage youth sailors of the Upper Florida Keys to experience the joy of sailing. Mark was a lifelong member and former Commodore of the Upper Keys Sailing Club. He was an accomplished sailor who believed that all youth in the community, regardless of their ability to pay, should be welcomed into the world of sailing.
The MSYSP operates out of the Upper Keys Sailing Club (UKSC), located on Buttonwood Bay in Key Largo Florida. The UKSC supports the program with limited funding, boats and storage as well as numerous volunteers to coordinate the program. In 2006, to facilitate tax-deductible contributions, the MSYSP incorporated and is now recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The Youth Sailing Director for 2009-2010 is Lynda Munshower.
Your tax-deductible contribution will assist to expand and improve the existing program and ensure its longevity. Donations provide us greater access to scholarships for sailing lessons, equipment/repairs to boats, regatta travel, awards for achievements, etc. A receipt acknowledging your donation will be mailed back to you promptly.
